How did Harriet plan & execute?
In 1849, Harriet decided to run away from the plantation. Her husband, John, refused to go with her, so she set out with her two brothers. They followed the North Star in the sky to guide them north, to freedom. Her brothers became frightened and turned back, but she continued on. After she had finished her voyage, she reached Philadelphia, were she was free. There she found work as a household servant and saved her money so that she could bring more slaves to freedom. And she did, she made a huge impact on the lives of other slaves.
